Red Pill Labs - Day 60: A Founder’s Journey

Wow, how time flies.  I can’t believe it’s already been 2 months since the launch date!  Red Pill Labs is like a newborn baby as we are still counting in weeks and months.  Happy to say the panic I had felt during week 1 has subsided and we are on our way.

While the journey thus far hasn’t been easy; it’s been filled with some amazing experiences which I’ve shared with some equally amazing people.  I can’t remember the last time my mental health was this healthy, strong, and vibrant.  I don’t know how else to describe it.  Okay, let me put this out there; I’ve never been formally incarcerated. I do however feel this incredible sense of freedom like I’ve been emancipated; Untethered in every way and ready to make my mark on the world.

Before I forget I have some folks I must thank.  I’m not going to call out any specific individuals but rather groups of people and if you’re in one of these groups I’m pretty sure you know I’m talking about you.

To my family, this goes without saying.  To my inner circle of friends thank you.  To the Creaky Blinders crew - having you believe in me when I didn’t believe in myself was my magic elixir.

To my network, thank you!  The support you’ve shown me can’t be described in words.  Also, thanks for playing along with my LinkedIn posts.  I had a lot of fun putting them out there, maybe too much fun.

I can’t believe we are already in the double digits in terms of headcount.  If you do the math, that's a person joining Red Pill Labs every 6 days.  I’m truly in awe; it’s not about the number of folks on the team but rather the quality of the individuals and the sheer diversity of backgrounds that I’m most proud of.

As a brand-new organization, we made a conscious choice from the get-go that we didn’t want to be labelled.  Yet, we live in a world where we label everything.  How do we market ourselves when we don’t align to generally recognized categories?  We did so by having real conversations with real people and ensuring they understood our need to create something new, that’s how.  You took a chance on us.  Thank you!

So, what’s next?  We have some exciting announcements coming over the next few weeks.   I’m also hoping my next update in a few months is chock full of exciting accomplishments to share, but as they say; baby steps.
